Arriving in Australia from late August, the new look Toyota HiLux will debut with improvents in fuel economy, towing, performance, comfort and its standard range of features.
The 2.8L turbo diesel's power is up 15% to 150kW, adn peak torque on auto models will be up 11% to 500Nm, all whilst improving fuel economy by 11.1%.
"More than ever, Australia's favourite ute will inspire go-anywhere confidence for customers who rely on it as a load-carrying and trailer-towing workhorse for doing their jobs," said Sean Hanley, Toyota Australia vice president of Sales and Marketing.
The latest changes include improvements to the Toyota HiLux's ride and comfort, as well as suspension upgrades.
Towing capacity for 4x4 auto models including dual cab chassis Workmate and SR5 derivatives, has been upgraded to a maximum of 3,500kg to match manual variants.
2WD diesel auto models have increased maximum towing capacity by 300kg, bringing it to 2,800kg.
An 8-inch display screen with enhanced voice recognition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is included on all models, as well as a 4.2-inch multi-information display in the instrument binnacle.
More than 18 million Toyota HiLux's have been sold globally, with more than 1 million of that in Australia.
