Our History
Maitland & Port Stephens Toyota are family owned dealerships operated by the Burton family.
From humble beginnings, Maitland & Port Stephens Toyota have risen to great success. This is reflected in the many awards they have won, including 4 times “Australian Dealer of the Year”, 11 times “Nationally Number 1 for Customer Satisfaction” and 11 times “President’s Award for Excellence”.
Norman and Maureen Burton began the operation in 1963. At that time the business was a Golden Fleece Petrol Station with a small car yard and a service workshop, located at 104 Newcastle Rd East Maitland.
In 1970 the Norman and Maureen purchased a second property located at 250 High Street Maitland which they had refurbished into a new cars showroom with a service facility.
The business operated out of these two sites until 2002, when a new facility combining all divisions of the company onto one site was built.
Today you can visit Maitland Toyota at 104-124 Newcastle road in East Maitland. The new building is hard to miss with its highway frontage and Toyota signage.
We have been an active part of the local Maitland community for over 50 years with major support to local events including Hunter Valley Steamfest, local sporting groups and up and coming stars.
Our Expansion
